Social Media Lead

Are you passionate about Social Media and the modern ways of connecting with global audiences through TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, storytelling, and memes? Are you deeply into gaming and pop culture? Then you might be the perfect fit for the GX Social Media Team.
As a Social Media Lead, you will take ownership of Opera GX’s global social media presence, shaping the strategy and leading its execution across all key platforms. You will work closely with Product Marketing, Communications, and Creative teams to define direction, drive high-impact campaigns, and ensure a consistent, bold GX voice worldwide.
In this role, you will lead social media initiatives end-to-end: from setting goals and priorities, through content planning and execution, to performance analysis and optimization. You will act as a strategic partner for internal stakeholders, while also mentoring and guiding team members to deliver best-in-class social content.
You will play a key role in building and scaling Opera GX’s global community, strengthening relationships with users, and driving engagement through innovative, culturally relevant content. This role requires excellent English skills, a strong sense of ownership, and a leadership mindset combined with hands-on execution.
Role & Responsibilities:
Lead and act as the main point of contact for Opera GX’s social media team, ensuring consistency and quality across all platforms.
Define and execute a cohesive social media strategy aligned with brand, product and business goals.
Oversee community management and ensure strong engagement across all social channels.
Develop creative campaigns, activations and content concepts rooted in gaming culture and audience insights.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to adapt and roll out brand and product campaigns with maximum impact.
Job Requirements:
5+ years of experience in social media, community management and creative strategy, ideally within gaming or entertainment.
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong storytelling and communication skills.
Deep understanding of gaming culture, trends, memes and what drives community engagement.
Hands-on knowledge of platforms such as TikTok, X (Twitter), Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
Proactive, idea-driven mindset, with the ability to challenge conventions and bring creative concepts to life.
