Motion Designer
Location: Wrocław (hybrid)
We’re looking for a Motion Designer to bring Opera’s AI and Neon products to life with engaging UI animations and 2D motion graphics. You’ll work closely with Product Designers, PMs, and Engineers to turn creative ideas into browser-ready experiences, balancing design hygiene with moments of delight that surprise users. Join us and shape motion design across multiple Opera products in an international environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Design and animate engaging UI elements and microinteractions that enhance usability, communicate interactions clearly, and bring moments of delight to the browser experience,
- Create 2D motion graphics and animations for digital products, websites, and apps, ensuring alignment with brand identity and seamless integration with technical constraints,
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, product designers, and front-end developers to prototype, test, and iterate rapidly on motion ideas - balancing creativity with feasibility in browser environments,
- Maintain high design standards and motion hygiene, applying modern animation patterns that ensure intuitive, consistent, and reliable user experiences,
- Contribute to the broader design team’s efforts, supporting shared goals, refining workflows, and fostering a motion-rich design culture that combines functionality with creativity and user delight.
Job Requirements:
Must-Have Technical Skills:
- UI Animation Excellence - deep understanding of UI animation principles, easing, and motion rules,
- Adobe Creative Cloud - After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition.
- Figma - for interface design and prototyping,
- Utilize AI-based design tools to accelerate workflows, including image and asset generation, video editing, motion enhancement, etc.
- Web-Ready Animation - preparing animations for web use (e.g., Lottie), optimized for browser performance,
- Coding Knowledge - basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript to create developer-ready motion files,
- Sound Design - ability to produce animations with full sound design (music, SFX, and voiceover).
Nice-to-Have Technical Skills:
- Experience with working with Protopie,
- Interactive and procedural Animation Tools - Rive, Cavalry (creating engaging, data driven animations).
Experience
- Demonstrable UI animation portfolio with real product cases,
- Proven experience preparing animation for developers (dev-ready motion files),
- Broad scope of animation experience: explainers, ads, icons, interactive animations,
- Comfortable solving motion design problems using coding skills (Ae expressions, HTML/CSS/JS).
