Senior Engineer - AI & Browsing Innovation
Location: Hybrid in Wrocław or on-site at one of Opera’s legal entities worldwide.
Opera is continuously seeking talented and ambitious Senior Engineers to join our AI & Browsing Innovation group - a team redefining how millions of users experience the web.
This is an ever-open position, created to attract exceptional engineers who combine deep technical expertise with a passion for innovation. You’ll work on some of the world’s most advanced browsers - including Opera Neon and the broader Opera browser family - helping bring next-generation AI technologies to life.
As part of our global engineering team, you’ll contribute directly to AI-driven features, system design, and product performance, ensuring Opera remains at the forefront of browsing innovation.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced features that integrate AI and personalization into Opera’s products.
- Collaborate across teams - working with architects, researchers, and product leaders to transform ideas into scalable solutions.
- Contribute hands-on to coding, prototyping, and system optimization across multiple platforms and languages.
- Participate in technical discussions and architecture reviews, influencing design decisions and long-term system evolution.
- Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and identify ways to apply them to enhance the user experience.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience in complex, high-scale systems.
- Proven ability to design and deliver reliable, performant, and maintainable software solutions.
- Strong programming skills across multiple languages and frameworks, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Solid understanding of AI / ML concepts and enthusiasm for applying them to real-world product use cases.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on browsers, search engines, or large-scale consumer applications.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems, personalization, or large language models (LLMs).
- Comfort working in fast-paced, distributed teams using modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Experience in AI-first organizations, consumer internet, or platform technology environments.
