Why I Chose Opera to Grow My Career in Dublin
I joined Opera as a Senior Product Manager about two and a half years ago after being approached with an opportunity that immediately caught my attention. The projects were closely connected to news and media, an area I know well, and after some time in the public sector, I was ready to return to the private world. I’d known Opera since the 90s, but what truly convinced me was the diversity of people here, with different cultures, backgrounds, and seniority levels working together toward shared goals.
My day-to-day work is highly cross-functional. I collaborate with teams across multiple offices, mostly through video calls, where we explore product development, discuss user challenges, and align on market-specific needs. We identify problems and work through solutions together. It’s fast-paced and demanding, but also very rewarding.
Dublin is a strategic location for Opera. It’s home to many major tech companies, offers access to strong and diverse talent, and has become an important AI hub. Because it’s a relatively small city, it’s easy to connect with people at the heart of the tech industry and build meaningful professional relationships while exchanging ideas.
My work is very people-focused. The Dublin talent market is young, tech-savvy, and increasingly AI-driven. We continue to grow our expertise across product, design, and management, while staying closely aligned with Opera’s global goals and long-term vision.
Looking ahead, I see the Dublin office continuing to evolve, especially by strengthening areas like marketing, analytics, and BI. Dublin itself is an exciting place to build a career - vibrant, diverse, and constantly changing - and that energy is reflected in our team.
There’s a real sense of momentum in Dublin right now, both within Opera and across the wider tech community, and it’s exciting to be part of shaping what comes next.
