System Administrator Intern
Location: Wroclaw (this is a full-time paid internship role, will not consider relocation or remote locations)
Opera is looking for a System Administrator Intern to join our frontline team responsible for keeping the Opera workforce productive and well-equipped. This role is ideal for someone passionate about IT, eager to learn, and comfortable juggling a variety of small tasks throughout the day.
You'll be part of a small, hands-on team that interfaces directly with all Opera employees, managing their tech needs and ensuring our internal systems and equipment operate seamlessly. This internship is a fantastic stepping stone for a long-term career in IT or System Administration.
Role & Responsibilities:
- End-User Support: provide day-to-day on-site and remote support to Opera employees across varying levels of technical experience.
- IT Asset & License Management: assist in provisioning/deprovisioning user accounts and devices, managing the lifecycle of equipment and licenses, handling incoming equipment/license orders.
- System Support & Development: support and help develop internal IT systems, including scripting and automation of recurring tasks.
Job Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of at least two operating systems (macOS, Linux, Windows) and foundational networking
- Some understanding of the hardware troubleshooting, ticketing systems (e.g., Jira), and knowledge bases
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) and configuration tools is nice to have
- Interest in hardware trends and IT innovations
- Strong communication skills in both English and Polish (spoken and written), with the ability to support users across varying technical levels
- Excellent organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple tasks from diverse channels (Slack, email, Jira, in-person)
