Available position: Manager, Internal Controls

Reporting to: Senior Director, Financial Reporting

Location: Oslo, Norway

Context and role:

As our new Manager for internal controls and SOX, you will have a leading role in our implementation of internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) based on the 2013 COSO framework and thus power to influence the way we manage our business. In 2019, you will work closely with consultants supporting our process of becoming SOX compliant. This includes designing an effective and scalable internal control environment, identifying areas of risk, providing recommendations on controls, and influencing changes and decisions, particularly for IT general controls, application controls and information produced by entity.

Maintaining adequate ICFR is a continuous process. By progressively improving manual controls, application controls, and information produced by entity, you see how the design of controls can create value for the organization. Assessing new processes, or changes to existing processes to identify financial and operational risks before launch will be important aspects of your role. Equally important of your role is ensuring that risk assessment and control frameworks are in place, running effectively and efficiently. In addition to this, you will design and execute control testing to address risks.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Four years of experience working with ICFR, including internal control design and operations, within finance and IT.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously.
  • Inherent problem-solver with desire to learn and take on responsibilities.
  • Master's degree in Accounting and Auditing, Economics, Business or other related discipline.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Fluent in English, verbally and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SOX and the 2013 COSO framework.
  • Big 4 experience.
  • Experience with Workday, our cloud ERP system, and Oracle’s Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service.
  • CIA, CISA, CRMA, State authorized public accountant, CPA or equivalent.

Some travel may be expected.
