Compliance Officer, Opera - Fintech

Opera Software is looking for a Compliance Officer to join the growing Opera Fintech Compliance & AML Team located in Tallinn, Estonia.

With a global user base of over 350 million, Opera is an international internet company that has expanded into product areas beyond our popular browsers. Our product portfolio includes web browsers, fintech solutions, news aggregation services, as well as data compression and privacy software.

The team in our Tallinn office is focusing on a new European fintech product and for this reason we need to grow our team with smart colleagues. What to expect

You will be working closely with the Head of Compliance on assuring the legal compliance of our business, procedures, control systems and conduct. This includes:

  • Reviewing, drafting and improving internal rules and procedures to meet the highest standards
  • Supporting the development of our existing and future state-of-the-art financial products to ensure the compliance with regulatory environment
  • Developing and improving AML/CFT procedures and monitoring systems as well as internal control system to ensure the trustworthiness and reliability of our organisation and services
  • Providing assistance on corporate, data protection and other legal matters to support our growing business
  • Dealing with other financial sector regulatory challenges and communicating with public authorities in different EU countries

Requirements towards new teammate:

  • Degree in Law, master’s preferred
  • Analytical mind and logical thinking
  • High proficiency in English and Estonian
  • High motivation to build a fast-going international fintech organisation
  • High level of communication and team working skills
  • Experience on working with some of the areas listed above in a financial institution or a regulatory authority
