Opera is looking for an experienced HPC Infrastructure Engineer to join Servers & Storage Infrastructure Team building and operating GPU-accelerated data centers.

A successful candidate will join the Global IT department and contribute to the evolution of Opera products through work on the development of data center infrastructure, expansion of HPC GPU and cooperation with Opera product teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and maintain HPC clusters providing GPU-based computational power and All-Flash storage
  • Measure and improve performance of software and hardware configurations
  • Analyze system metrics and troubleshoot problems
  • Support day-to-day operations in HPC environment
  • Benchmark data center hardware and define approved configurations
  • Develop and maintain general-purpose servers and storage infrastructure
  • Develop tools for infrastructure automation
  • Contribute to life cycle phases of data center grade infrastructure
  • Lead technical dialogue with hardware vendors
  • Provide training to team members and create documentation

Job Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge and experience with building and operating HPC clusters, including server hardware, automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration systems, workload management/job scheduling software
  • Hands-on experience with All-Flash storage solutions and HPC filesystems
  • Hands-on experience with datacenter remote operations: server management via IPMI and Redfish, “Remote Hands” operations
  • Experience with Linux systems administration and OS unattended installation systems
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting toolkits (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)
  • Ability to write code in one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash)
  • Network knowledge allowing for Linux-based system troubleshooting
  • Fluency in English

An Ideal Candidate’s Profile:

  • Hands-on experience with HPC cluster installations built on NVIDIA HGX A100/H100 server boards or DGX A100/H100 systems
  • Expertise with high-speed networking such as InfiniBand
  • Expertise with running GPU-optimized containers for AI/ML and HPC applications
