Opera is seeking another lawyer to join our Legal department!

Opera is in the midst of an expansion of its European financial services operations. Opera is a multi-national and multi-cultural company with big ambitions for the future. With a growing user base of more than 50 million monthly active browser users in Europe, Opera is among the leading consumer technology companies in the region. Following the acquisition of an Estonian banking-as-a-service company and an agreement to acquire a Lithuanian specialized bank, Opera is seeking to add additional capabilities and skillsets to enable future synergies between its browser and financial services businesses in Europe and worldwide.

We are looking for someone who would be excited to work in a global, ever-changing environment. Our businesses are expanding rapidly and we need a business-minded «Do’er» that will take charge and help move our company forward.

We are, in particular seeking a candidate to provide hands-on legal support for various corporate processes and our growing European financial services business. Tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Regulatory: managing regulatory processes relating to our licenses;
  • Corporate: supporting corporate projects within the Opera group of companies;
  • Advisory: advising our business and compliance teams on applicable law;
  • Contracting: managing contract negotiations and related processes; and
  • Reporting: reporting and keeping the group’s General Counsel informed of the progress of the foregoing tasks.


  • Currently licensed to practice law in an EU/EEA jurisdiction;
  • Fluent in English including legal terminology;
  • 5 or more years of legal experience; and
  • Knowledge of and experience working with one or more of the following: consumer lending, PSD2, AML directives, EBA guidelines on outsourcing arrangements, capital requirements regulation, and directive.
