Job description:

Opera is growing its Global IT Team in Wrocław, Poland. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong Python programming skills. In this position, you’ll participate in both the creation of new systems supporting Opera’s IT environment and ensuring that the existing ones operate smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and improved systems to support Opera IT Platform.
  • Create attractive and accessible web applications to support core IT systems.
  • Analyze current IT systems and processes to find opportunities for efficiency gains or improvements on user experience.
  • Work with Global IT staff to develop timelines/schedules for implementation as well as prioritize tasks.
  • Take ownership of Atlassian products in Opera’s use - JIRA, Confluence, and related products - develop, maintain, and optimize.
  • Be the link between the software that’s created and the infrastructure it’s running on.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Python.
  • Good understanding of automation tools, Linux/Unix shells, and TCP/IP stack.
  • Understanding of modern software development tools and methodologies.
  • Able to quickly iterate new ideas in a fail-fast approach.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Work experience with one or more of the following technologies is welcome:

Puppet and/or Ansible, Docker, OpenLDAP, GIT, Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence), Nginx, Bash scripting, CI/CD, Django, React and/or JavaScript, and telemetry solutions.

Experience with networking, and an understanding of TCP/IP and ISO/OSI models.

Previous experience in IT service environment.
